AI Summary Generation​

• Multiple AI Providers: Connect OpenAI, DeepSeek, Groq, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, or an OpenAI-compatible service, including self-hosted endpoints.
• Generation Profiles: Create reusable profiles with their own provider, model, prompt, target length, source limit, and output settings.
• Fallback Profiles: Automatically try a designated fallback profile when the primary profile is unavailable.
• Custom Prompts: Build prompts with placeholders for the content title, source text, content type, and target length.
• Background Queue: Generate summaries through a retry-aware queue without making visitors wait for the AI provider.

Automatic Updates & History​

• Automatic Generation: Queue summaries for selected content types when new content is created or existing content changes.
• Edit Debouncing: Combine rapid content edits before requesting a new summary.
• Smart Staleness Rules: Delay regeneration until accumulated changes reach configured item, character, percentage, or maximum-delay thresholds.
• Container Rules: Override automatic generation, profiles, minimum source length, debouncing, and staleness rules per forum or resource category, with inheritance from the nearest parent. Enabling a rule affects future changes unless an administrator explicitly requests a backfill of existing content.
• Outdated Summary Handling: Mark changed content as outdated and choose whether the previous summary remains visible while a replacement is pending.
• Summary History: Optionally retain previous summary versions with a configurable per-content limit and moderator-only access.
• SEO Meta Descriptions: Optionally use generated summaries as thread and resource meta descriptions with a configurable maximum length.

Member & Staff Controls​

• On-Demand Requests: Let permitted members request a missing summary from the public content page.
• Controlled Regeneration: Separately control whether members can regenerate summaries for their own content and whether moderators can regenerate any summary.
• Quality Feedback: Let permitted members mark a summary as helpful or select a reason when it is not helpful, including incorrect, incomplete, unclear, or outdated content.
• ACP Feedback Insights: Review aggregate quality results without exposing public vote totals on the content page.
• Style Properties: Customize the summary block, header, body, footer, accent border, outdated notice, header icon, and AI label through XenForo style properties.

Administration & Monitoring​

• Bulk Generation Tasks: Generate missing summaries or regenerate existing summaries across selected content and containers.
• Live Task Management: Monitor progress and pause, resume, cancel, or delete generation tasks from the ACP.
• Queue Management: Filter queued work by content type, state, reason, error, or task and retry or delete selected items in bulk.
• Logs & Statistics: Review request outcomes, providers, models, token usage, durations, character counts, triggers, and queue totals.
• Usage Controls: Skip short automatic sources and apply a rolling 24-hour character budget while keeping manual requests and administrator-created bulk tasks available.
• Log Retention: Configure how long generation activity logs are retained.

FAQ:​

• Are summaries generated automatically? They can be. Automatic generation is disabled by default and can be enabled separately for supported content types. Permitted members can also request summaries, and administrators can create bulk generation tasks.
• Does every small edit trigger another AI request? Not necessarily. Edit debouncing can combine rapid changes, and smart staleness rules can wait until configured change thresholds or a maximum delay are reached.
• What happens while a summary is outdated? The add-on marks the summary as outdated and queues regeneration according to your settings. Administrators can choose whether the previous summary remains visible during that period.
• Can moderators review older summary versions? Yes. Optional summary history stores previous versions up to the configured limit, and separate moderator permissions control access for threads and resources.
• Can I use a provider that is not listed? Yes, when the service exposes a compatible OpenAI-style API. You can configure its endpoint, model, credentials, and generation settings in a profile.
• How can automatic AI usage be limited? Set a minimum automatic source length, configure source and output limits per profile, use edit debouncing and smart staleness thresholds, and set a rolling 24-hour character budget shared by automatic and user-requested generation.
• Can members change their feedback? Yes. Feedback applies to the current summary version and can be updated or removed by the member who submitted it.
