  Items are ranked by their community vote score. The author's original ordering is used to break ties.
• Can an author vote on items in their own toplist?
  Yes, when own-item voting is enabled in the forum settings. It is disabled by default.
• Can voting run for a limited time?
  Yes. Voting can have configured start and end dates and close automatically when the voting period ends.
• Can rankings stay hidden until voting ends?
  Yes. Voting results can remain hidden while voting is active and be revealed when it ends.
• Can I see how rankings changed over time?
  Yes. Ranking history records item positions, scores, and vote counts and provides a historical position chart.
• How is ranking history kept under control?
  Administrators can configure how long exact snapshots are retained before older data is compacted into hourly, daily, and weekly points. Automatic maintenance can be disabled, and a manual rebuild tool is available in the ACP.
• What happens when a toplist is taller than the configured display height?
  XenForo collapses the list using its standard expandable-content control. Visitors can reveal the complete list without leaving the thread.
• How are toplists represented to search engines?
  XenForo's native DiscussionForumPosting metadata is preserved while the ordered list is represented using Schema.org ItemList structured data. Hidden results use author order until voting ends, and vote totals are not included.
